Guess who is ONE and ALMOST walking!
He turned One yesterday September 22nd!
this last picture was taken yesterday the 22nd at the time he was born (not exactly but within one hour!)
So he is (almost) exactly ONE in this picture!
We all went outside and watched the sun set tonight, it was so neat. I absolutely LOVE being on the hill top. First we noticed the clouds looking funny, Carter said, “hey MOM! Look a TORNADO!” Of course it was not one, but it did look like it for a few minutes. Then the sky started turning pink..cloud by cloud literally. Enjoy~
What next?
Feel so bad for all who have been flooded out of their homes. I can’t wait for this year to be over! We live on a hill, so we are ok. But just a little bit down the road from us is a different story. Just can’t believe it. So sad. It is very painful to see. One thing after another.
Next week is going to be busy. Lauras Therapy had to be rescheduled because of the flooding this week to Monday, Tuesday is Jonathans surgery, he has to stay overnight until Wednesday. Thursday, Lauras therapy, then I have to drive all the way to Albany NY on Friday for Lauras follow up. (thinking I will reschedule that.)
Not to mention the other kids getting to school and making sure someone is here to get them off the bus. (If they even have school by then because of the flooding) I don’t know how long it will take to fix the roads.
This picture was taken by the little kids school principle it is of the only road that leads to the little school behind our house. (the other way to get to the school is through the field,in the mud)
This is about 5 houses down the road from us on the corner.
I have to tell you this was VERY tempting! I have a thing for ducks but I also have a thing for kids too. My kids come first, so until we have a proper place to put the duck..(ONE) I will have to wait. I had one years ago before I had Laura. I called her Elvis because her beak curled up on one side. She would lay eggs over and over again and sit on them, but they would never hatch. (of course they weren’t fertilized)
Well I had this bright idea..I found peasant eggs in the local paper 12 for 3 bucks already fertilized. I bought them, switched her eggs out with the fertilized ones, she took care of them until they hatched. I am saying UNTIL THEY HATCHED…because when they hatched they all ran away! I felt so bad for her.
We ended up finding a home for her on a local farm because we had to move and couldn’t take her across the country. She would follow me everywhere, even into the house if I let her, and when I would stop, she would stop and put one of her feet on my foot. I miss her.
Tuesday we went to a meet and greet at a park for Siennas Pre-K class. I didn’t want to miss it because it would give her a chance to get use to her classmates and teacher. ( My camera died before I could get a picture of her with her teacher I will have to try on Tuesday when we get to see her classroom.)
She had allot of fun playing with her classmates. She talks about how she wants to go to school and was so excited to get a new backpack so I hoping it will be an easy transition for her. (probably be easier for her then her mommy.)
The second to last picture just before my camera died. This girl can be pretty stubborn. The green slide you see in the background, she RAN up when we first arrived. I just about peed my pants. Doctors instructions when we left were NO LIFTING more then 5 pounds. Well I MADE her sit next to me for a reason. She was running under the monkey bars, lifting up all the other kids and holding the legs while they went across the monkey bars! Mark wasn’t too upset because he said it was human nature for her to be so active because she is still only 13, “just being a kid” he said. Also he was happy to see her enjoying herself (me too, but scared for her) .
We did have a nice time and it couldn’t have been a more beautiful day to be at the park!
I couldn’t end this post without a picture of Mr. Smiley
