I promise I didn’t let the girls torture him for too long….but it was cute! Babies really can make some funny faces haha!

SOOOOoooo i heard about all this rain we were supposed to get.. ok never heard about the wind, but I HEARD the wind. It sounded like a HURRICANE was passing through.. no big deal . BUT THEN carter gets off the bus and tells me how big the SNOWFLAKES are What?!?!?!? I told him he must be joking. He was completely serious….

    DSCF4081 DSCF4082

Then Carter wanted me to feel better so he asks to make cookies…

    DSCF4074

I’m off to make dinner then some cookies, as I try my hardest not to look outside.

I do know if it keeps up all night i will love the coziness of looking out to a fresh blanket of that stuff while sipping my hot coffee. Or maybe I will make some hot chocolate or tea? It’s a love/hate relationship.

  • Real life

Hello…this is my life. I am a mom of 6 kids and I love it and it’s SUPER easy.. HA no it’s not. but I do love it.

There ARE times I want to pull out my hair and there ARE times where I am sure I am losing hair and I cannot possibly attend to every screaming/fighting child. Thankfully these occasions are few and far between. It’s happens in waves.

Loading and unloading the family vehicle has not been AS hard as I originally had thought it would be. Although there is a major problem while driving. Seems Anthony absolutely detests his car seat. I mean it doesn’t matter if I change, feed,cushion….nothing. And he decided to be a stinker and refuse any self soothing device.(including a bottle, which if he would only accept the “fake” texture/taste, it would be so much less traumatic for us all.) So until he accepts the fact he needs to be strapped down for these trips, we have a very LOUD car ride. I also refuse to travel by myself. I can’t do it if it’s just him and I and he screams the entire time.

So, about this “fake” bottle pacifier situation. I am at a loss. I feel it is my fault because i didn’t introduce it sooner to him. He is the first one I have had a problem with. I NEED suggestions. The poor man needs something when I am unable to get to him myself, our car rides are always at least 15-20 minutes long.(because we live in the boonies/country ) When we finally arrive at our destination, I think we have all lost a few hairs and shortened our life span by a couple years.(yes it is THAT bad).

I have had MANY people tell me it is good that he doesn’t take the bottle or paci…..OK. Maybe it’s good. BUT we cannot stop every 2 minutes in the car with a family of 8, for me to get out, switch places, take him out, nurse for at least 8 minutes, burp, get buckled again and 2-3 minutes later he is screaming all over again. Just cannot happen.(but it does…every time) He won’t even take my finger, seriously he gets more mad if I try to fake him out like that. (it’s offensive to him). I have tried to sweeten the paci with a teeny bit of sugar, but he gags. I have spent $$ on all different types of bottles and pacifiers, for him to refuse them all.

    any suggestions?

I love nursing him, and will not wean him until he is over a year…but it is not ALWAYS possible to nurse on demand..and believe me , he DEMANDS! (you couldn’t tell by how big he is,could you?)

    5 weeks

my head is about to explode right now as I type because a certain toddler has discovered where I hid the alligator xylophone and is having a field day beating it to death..( I wish the thing would die!) HA

    Thats real life.

  • Shocked I even got to this site!  Somethings been going on with it lately.

Not much time right now, but thought i would share what i see…

  • First Week

Anthony is one week old today!

    DSCF2628.JPG

Between Daddy and I we change MANY MANY diapers!

    DSCF2627.JPG

You are VERY alert (when you are actually awake)

You have excellent control of your head when you lift it.

You actually turn your head and look at whos talking to you.

You are sleeping very well for us at night getting up to eat every 3-4 hours then going back to sleep.

    DSCF2629.JPG

You are LOVED so much by all your brothers and sisters too. I can’t wait to see you laugh and play with them!

  • Quick update~

Thought I would pop on and update my blog….I can’t believe I let almost a month go by.

No Baby yet!  BIG surprise for me since today I got an e-mail saying I am now 40 weeks..which I have never been before. 3 weeks ago I felt the baby flip, sure enough he was but first. 37 weeks and having a baby flip on you is pretty scary.

I was in the beginning stages of labor at my appt. on the 10th and ultrasound confirmed he indeed flipped,so I was sent directly to the hospital to stop the contractions and possibly flip him back, then induce. They kept me overnight and the next day they decided to schedule a day to turn and induce(since they stopped the labor) Which was the 24th this friday! Well I heard this procedure can be pretty painful and was told there is a risk of having an emergency c-section if the baby cannot tolerate it.

Well this past Saturday I was scheduled to get an Iv Iron injection which would help prepare me in case of extra bleeding (since i was very anemic to begin with, and being this is number six,the Doc wanted it on board )

    100918-170518

THIS IS WHAT IV IRON LOOKS LIKE (kinda freaked me out to see something that looked like blood going into my body *shiver*)

While we were there he decided to grab the ultrasound and check to see what position he was in. WELL he was HEAD DOWN! yay!

I did feel him move allot, and when i did i would get in all the positions to help him have enough room to get head down, which if you google breech babies and how to flip them, well….these are not the most comfortable positions to get into Ha ha. BUT this did work! And i kinda felt better when he was in the correct position,so I stopped doing these moves so as not to flip him back just in case he was right. If you have ever had a baby breech this late in pregnancy, you know how painful and awkward it feels to just walk and move around.

My doctor needless to say was relieved! he said well this sure uncomplicates things. He kept the date on the calendar for the 24th until Wed the 22nd,when we are taking another peek to make sure he is still head down.

So i wait for Wed at my appt to see if he is going to make this easy or difficult for me…(although i have this weird feeling i may not make it till then?) But I have been saying this forever it seems.I do feel he is still head down, when he was not head down i could feel his head directly between my ribs, and had incredible heartburn. Also my belly just looked different, felt the hiccups lower and kicks also.

I am very excited to meet him and he is driving me crazy by waiting so long! Everything is READY for him!

~ignore the chicken leg with batman pajama pants…He’s got the hiccups and is either very happy squirming around,or really wants out…still painful either way for me.

  • Made it through another week! Today has been one of those off days..just feeling really weird..crampy all over can’t lift my legs to walk up stairs….you know all the good stuff that goes with pregnancy. After visiting my midwife this morning, she thought I should have an ultrasound to confirm position of baby…she couldn’t tell either way but said she thought he was still head down (I know I felt him flip the other night and it was the strangest most painful feeling) Thinking now maybe he WAS breech and maybe he flipped back head down? Just glad he is head down at this point WHEW.  While at the ultrasound the tech pointed out his spiky hair ( i didn’t think it was that much, still don’t ) and said his head measured over 37weeks…   but belly and everything else was 36 weeks ..everything looked good ,and when i get the pic back from my husband i will add it.(he took it to work) I must add the baby looks JUST like Jonathans profile..

Having sporadic contractions painful but not regular enough to where I think I should time them…sitting here with my ice water and relaxing.. this morning they were every 3-4 minutes and have since spaced out. With my history this can go on for weeks..

As far as having things ready, I am as ready as I think I can get..have managed to keep up on laundry for the past 3 weeks or so..still on top of it. And pretty much have the basics covered just in case..I love surprises! Wonder when he will make his grand entrance!

  • Today is the day

So Mark goes back to work today after 8 days off . It has been like a vacation for me for sure. We had a nice time just enjoying spending time together as a family, we did allot of relaxing and caught up on allot of yard work and preparing for winter.(and the new baby).

We went to my parents for a BBQ on the 12th ,it rained but it was still fun! The kids had fun playing in the rain..it was a warm rain and it was still hot and muggy out. (so when you see the pics…tis the reason my kids probably never got sick. I think July and August are my favorite months now because they are the ONLY months when my kids are not sick!

I didn’t get a picture of my dad since he was inside cooking…

We went to the lake a few times also which i was surprised to find the docks were still up. They usually take them down the first to second week in August. We were the ONLY ones there! And it was B E A U T I F U L!

    DSCF2229.JPG

The boys spent time playing on the side with a net trying to catch frogs and other critters, while the girls were swimming with Daddy keeping a close eye on them.. We just put arm floats on Alaina because we couldn’t find her tube and she did great with just the arm floats!

Including VEGETARIAN patties JUST for me from scratch..yum!

AND smothered NON meatballs JUST for me!

    DSCF2207.JPG

I was spoiled.  I am going to miss him..now the baby needs to arrive so he can take off more days! Everything is ready….

New seat for the van….check! (our van now seats EIGHT!)

    Infant car seat…check!

Baby clothes washed in Dreft and neatly organized and folded….check! (didn’t use dreft in the past and all my babies ended up with excema..severe,so we will see if this works!)

Bassinet completely put back together after a good washing and sitting next to my bed…check!(washed in dreft also)

    Hospital bag packed…check!

Now working on packing suitcases for kids, while I am in the hospital…

Also working on killing these flies that are currently buzzing around my head GRRRR.

    Baby bag packed….check!

School is starting on the 8th so HOPEFULLY he arrives before then or after, would be sooo much easier to have him before but I don’t want to be in the hospital on Jonathans first day of school! (oh well…I am up for this surprise!)

Really the only thing I need to do now is get the school supplies together, still waiting for Carters list he needs.(Maybe will be in the mail today?)  Jonathan needs a backpack and Hmmmm I think thats it!  I went to Old Navy and they were having a sale on ALL of the jeans so I snagged a bunch for the boys… they were only 10 bucks a pair! (originally 19.50)

    YUP!  ready….set….BABY!
