We were at the gas station getting gas the other day and Laura says,”Mom…I sure wish we could still just have horse and buggies to get around in,geesh think about how much money we would save!”
Now at first I said to her,wow that would be so neat wouldn’t it? THEN I thought about it for a minute and I asked her how much we would have to bundle up to go anywhere…and how long she thought it would take to get to town since we are 15 miles out….(mind you it was 18 degrees that day) She thought about it for a bit,and I decided to throw in how much it would probably cost to feed the two or more horses we would need to pull our family. So finally she said…”well I guess it would just about be the same then…I would rather stay warm in the car anyhow.” I just thought it was funny she even brought it up at all…she is always asking how much things cost now,and how much they cost when I was her age. I could go to the local candy store and with 50 cents I could come home with at least 40 pieces of candy if I bought all the 1 cent ones…..now if you happen to find a candy store that sells single pieces, they are at least 10 cents a piece! (how did I escape cavities all together, but my kids didn’t?) I think I used to eat candy way more then they do.
This is a picture I took just before it got cold out all the leaves were off the trees but thankfully the really cold weather held off until december.Sienna refused to stand for the picture, she wanted to play in the tall grass.
another attempt…Sienna ran away and Jonathan wanted to follow(Carter just wanted to make a goofy face so I would have to take more)
A little better,Laura was getting tired and now Alaina was watching Sienna throw a fit.
Finally I let them play in the grass like they wanted….
My Goodness I can see SPRING already! (it is raining right now and has been most of the day…we have flood watches…I hope all the snow is gone in the morning and the mud is off the car!) It’s a little early to talk about spring i know…I do this to myself every year…..It seems to make it come faster if I keep thinking about it.(which you think it would be the opposite)
I think I am off to bed now it’s been a long day.I enjoyed meeting with friends and then family this afternoon. A Very good illustration about a plane and how in fog or bad weather the pilot and the passengers can be fooled into thinking they are flying straight when in reality they are slowly circling downward ready to crash..all because they could not see what was coming.
