  •  Originally I wanted to post today what a wonderful day it was, sunshine, warm weather and all…BUT the truth of today is…..well it was just one of THOSE days around here where nothing seemed to go right.

Kids are getting over one of the longest colds that could go down in history, runny snotty noses, fevers you know all the good stuff that comes with it.

SOOO this makes them all incredibly irritable cranky as all get out. ALL three of the little ones all at once, I could go through a list of my day,but i really do not want to have to remember it so I will spare details.

Lets just say,it was not fun. Things are finally starting to calm down and baby is sleeping. Oh it was just a wonderful sunny day. (i had to restart the well pump 2 times today) EVERY time i turn around another child is running the hose while i am trying to catch up on loads upon loads of laundry.

When your children finally learn how to dress themselves, well they just keep on changing out dirty clothes until the pile is almost sky high and there are no clean ones left. They also have learned how to escape from the house, leaving as they please(also letting the baby out). Every time i went to sit my but down in a chair, well not for long. HUM yup one of THOSE days. Fighting, teasing, screaming, pushing. I am so sick of it all for today.(wish i could crawl in a hole type of day)

I am sure the pregnancy has something to do with it also, 23 weeks in.

BOY=Tired and Sick for second half

GIRL=Tired and Sick for first half

Although i never actually throw up,i do get the queasiness.

This morning my cereal went soggy and i almost tossed it then,Had to change a poopy diaper, then having to dump the pool outside because the baby kept drinking the nasty water. All while i had just poured the milk on the cereal(last bit of the cereal which i consider mine, which was also my first bowl of the box) SOO i skipped breakfast which was not good, because it made me feel even worse.

    Oh what a wonderful day.

I know,I know ,I will miss these days..not really the fighting screaming pushing part, but the kids being little and all the cute things they say and do. In the end I know it is a privilege to be a mom,and I really do love it, almost every bit of it…I would never change a thing.

Some pictures from this past week….(went to a black and white graduation party. Also one of my favorite Farm markets)

Another post another time….It’s dinner time.

  •    What happened to the warm weather??

If I remember correctly last week it was in the 80′s…this week? Different story! I think the highest this week has been in the 50′s,it’s so depressing.More rain the rest of this week starting on wednesday.

Well I can always look back at the pictures I took when it was 80.

    DSCF0730.JPG

I wouldn’t let them fill the pool just yet,so they were putting sand in it from the sand box,go figure!

    DSCF0738.JPG

Then Laura decided to make it a habitat (not for Sienna, lol) But for this creature Sienna found.

    DSCF0736.JPG

Yes folks, the first TOAD of the season!

     DSCF0741.JPG

Jonathan carried the poor thing everywhere and I don’t think it spent much time in it’s habitat.

    DSCF0744.JPG

I spent allot of time admiring my favorite tree! (apple) So I took a picture,Mark has done allot of trim work on it so he can spin around it with the mower with ease, lol.

    DSCF0739.JPG

Soon the kids gravitated toward the dilapidated swing set(and i mean it’s on it’s last legs) it sits where it got blown 2 summers ago…we just had to unwrap it from the tree and add some more nails and it still works, but we are due for one next spring for sure! ( I already have it picked out!)

    DSCF0746.JPG

Laura spread out a blanket I got the celery and we took some rabbits out for a while and let them hop around the yard.Funny they weren’t interested in the celery, they wanted dandelions and clovers! So the kids ended up eating some of the celery!

    DSCF0771.JPG

    DSCF0777.JPG

    DSCF0774.JPG

    DSCF0775.JPG

At least it didn’t get wasted!

    DSCF0781.JPG

Alaina was chasing the bunnies trying to stuff the celery in the bunnies mouths!Determined to make them eat it!

    DSCF0770.JPG

    DSCF0765.JPG

    DSCF0766.JPG

    DSCF0767.JPG

it jumped in a hole to escape,i have to tell you when i saw it go down i was worried, but then upon closer inspection i found the hole was an open spot where there used to be a fence post.WHEW.(wouldn’t want an angry woodchuck or something to find it in their home!)

    DSCF0768.JPG

Sienna thought she could get it to take the celery, but it hopped along!

We let three rabbits out so if you wonder why the pics look different, well,it’s because they are!

Heres the mama Rabbit, and her new babies born 5 days ago.(the babies are 2 days in this picture)

    DSCF0792.JPG

    DSCF0797.JPG

    DSCF0798.JPG

the first day we don’t touch them at all,I let Laura pick one up just for the picture on day 2 and that was it. (gotta love the nail polish, she knows i don’t like it,but her friend Katelynn and her did their nails together).

    DSCF0789.JPG

Three more bigger babies 5 months old.

    DSCF0802.JPG

I am up to 14 now so I just give them to good homes now, since they are all handled frequently, they are perfect pets!

    DSCF0811.JPG

    DSCF0812.JPG

Alaina discovered the front yard and I couldn’t keep her outback for nothing,so i ended up calling it a night with her and let the others stay out a little longer.

    DSCF0814.JPG

    Seeing double????

Nah we really do have two cats that are identical, well almost…I am really the only one that can tell them apart easily.

    DSCF0816.JPG

Thomas in on the left and T2 is on the right…(I think) LOL

    DSCF0817.JPG

Oh yup I was right! Thomas has a spot on his nose!,They were both born from the same mother cat 5 months apart, and both were born without tails.Pretty neat don’t you think???

It’s funny because Siennas speech Therapist JUST figured out that there were TWO cats. we were in the kitchen and one was on her left and one was on her right, she totally thought there was only one up until now!(she has been coming to our house twice a week for 6 months now!)

  • IT”S A BOY!

Today I went to the Doctor thinking I had a tumor…LOL. JUST KIDDING!

I am now officially halfway through my pregnancy with NUMBER SIX.

Everything looks great and we are so happy to find out we will have 3 girls and 3 boys!

    Now for the pictures!

Alaina was just amazed. Last time we were there with her, she was about 9  months old

    DSCF0113 - Copy.JPG

It really didn’t take long for the kids to decide to try out how cold the water was…in their shoes.

I must have said out of the water 10 times in less then 3 minutes.

Laura taught Alaina to throw stones…and she was showing me also how she could skip them. I was a pro in my neighborhood when i was little,no one ever beat how many skips i could do..i would make it all the way across the river, and to make it more challenging i would skip them downstream so they would keep skipping. If I remember correctly i skipped a stone 14 times once!(she gets it from me!!)

Carter played in the huge tree along the lake most of the time…

    DSCF0212.JPG

Just before I told him he was getting a little too high for my liking…again he gets his tree climbing abilities from me.

I would climb to the very top of pine trees until they got bendy and sway around in circles, and back and forth…they never broke either. I remember allot of times my mom would be calling me in for dinner and i would say “I’m right here!” and she wouldn’t see me until I said “Look up!” I don’t think she really liked seeing me so high in a tree,Now I’m a mom I know why.

    DSCF0218.JPG

Strike 2 with Sienna…she really wanted to swim, but she was freezing, her pants are soaked.

    DSCF0209.JPG

It was so nice to get out today.. It was warm and breezy,PERFECT in my book.

I really look forward to all the color,we need more color to balance out the gray and brown a bit.

I have a feeling tomorrow will be just as nice! We really need to clean up the lawn and around the bushes!

SPRING cleaning is on the agenda!

And yes I do realize there are no pictures of me,I was having too much fun messing with the new camera,I totally forgot. It would have been nice to include me!

  • Jonathan is doing allot better now, almost back to himself…we still expect that maybe he will have his periodic fevers. The doctors believe that this last episode was caused by something else.

Today I plan on getting so much done, already have….but much much more to get done. I am ordering my new camera today also, thanks to Robin my sister for picking it out for me. I have no idea anything about cameras and she is a photographer,so,i asked her to pick the best one for me. I am really missing mine, and I just think about how so many people today have absolutely NO values or sense of what it is like to be honest.I see it everywhere I go. And the fact that the kids saw us and book it around a corner the next night….oooooo i wanted to hunt him down so bad.

Well I better get moving, hopefully we will have the boys bunkbeds put together today. I bought the ones with the drawers underneath so i hope it can open some space in their room a little. We finished the girls bunkbeds and i am so glad I got them in white. It really looks girly!

    Ta Ta

  • Well thought i would update my journal/blog .

We took Jonathan to his doctor on monday because his fever was on day 8. THAT IS EIGHT DAYS with a fever of 105.7 After a quick exam,he called Syracuse University and told the attending Doctor in the ER we were on our way.

We arrived at the ER around 7pm…waited for 1.5 hours in the ER to be checked in…which if you have never been to an ER in a huge city…lets just say there are some really interesting people..which I do not judge anyone, but I have to admit it was scary, extremely packed waiting room where everyone including people coming in on abulances go through. As we sat and waited, person after person came in(through   high security…i counted 5 officers all doors were locked and you have to pass through metal detectors)

Within 15 minutes there was a lady who had back pain(looked to live on the street),An old man who could barely walk,he was all by himself, a little boy and parents with a huge lump and gash on his forehead that was bleeding everywhere, a little girl with a broken leg her parents were carrying her, another bag “lady” who was obviously really a man with bright red lipstick carrying what looked to be all of his/her belongings,a Lady who was brought by security in a wheel chair who was having chest pain and was struggling to even breath and turning blue…..ok and this is where i finally lost it and broke down crying, this young girl ran in(looked to be 14 or 15) holding this teeny newborn swaying it back and forth a little quickly….a security officer came up to her and told her she needed to register.Just as the man said that, this lady came running in saying is he still breathing,is he breathing?(i think it was the young girls mother) The young girl said “No ! he is NOT still breathing!” with tears streaming down her face…the officer paged the people in the back and next thing i knew nurses from all directions came flying out grabbed the baby and just before the doors shut,i did hear a tiny squeal/cough come from the baby.

Now i have never in my life experienced this but only on TV…I was praying over and over because i was so scared (for Jonathan but mostly for the little girl with the baby)..Mark looked at me and saw me balling.he asked what is a matter? I could not say anything. Finally I just said this place is scary,i don’t want to be here.

When we finally got a room in the ER away from the chaos, it was a different experience. The doctors were so nice as well as the nurses. They contacted Jonathans ID Doctors and we got the ball rolling as to try and figure out what was happening with him. After being observed in the ER for 6 hours, they decided to Admit him and we were transferred to the new pediatric unit which was AMAZING! It was on the top floor under the helicopter landing pad.ALL things were running through my head,I was so worried that they were going to tell me Jonathan had cancer or something. His blood tests were all ok except for his SED-rate and WBC counts..They were both pretty high.

So being a mom and not wanting to wait for answers i googled it…WRONG thing for me to do! It came right up and things like AIDS,TB,and cancer came up. I know why the doctors tell patients not to google symptoms now.

So after 2 days in the hospital,24 hours with no fever, and numerous meetings with teams of Doctors,(I was secretly hoping they had a real live Dr.House available) they discharged him with the thought he is going to be just fine. We have many follow ups we need to schedule now though. they are not finished with him by any means. Whatever is causing his periodic fevers every 2-3 weeks for the past 18 months is unknown, they do suspect with this last episode of 8 days,he may have had an infection somewhere and along with his regular periodic fever, his body was unable to fight it off as quickly as others would. They did do other tests for certain viruses that were send away and take time for the results, one of which is the h1n1.He had chest X-rays,an ekg,and Iv’s.(along with much bloodwork)

I trusted the Doctors there completely and they were very very reassuring they were leaving absolutely not one single stone unturned to figure this out. They do say that almost all the cases they have seen with children and periodic fevers, resolve on there own with time,it could take years.

Jonathan was sooo excited to come home and the entire time he was there he was asking when he could get a hamster.Ummm I don’t know about that but Daddy promised him we would go look at them.(ugh,i love animals but,i do believe most belong outside in their natural environment. Thanks to my father what you say to your kids when they are young does stick with them. He always told me that when i was little and I really truly believe it.)

We are home now and unfortunately I would post pictures of Jonathan and the Pediatric unit(which was out of this world kid and family friendly!) but my camera was stolen by a cleaning guy at the hospital who looked to be fresh out of prison.(Again i do not want to judge, who knows maybe he wasn’t in prison but if he keeps stealing things he will end up there. He left his shift before anyone could question him.)I did get to transfer all my pics to the computer before it was stolen, but it was stolen before i could take anymore at the hospital. It was irritating because Mark and I saw him last night must have been right when he started his shift, he booked it around a corner and on an elevator before mark could catch up to him. I was so mad, because that just showed me he was so guilty AND he recognized us probably because he looked at pictures and watched my videos of the kids I had on the camera.Such an invaded feeling,I cannot describe it. WELL now i have my USB cable but no camera. So Mark told me Last night I should get an upgrade from the one I had before, even though I really liked mine,I think I will. Any suggestions? I really do not want to spend the $ on an expensive camera, but to me, taking pictures when the kids are little is important, and will be worth every cent!

I do have some pics i took on my cell phone, but i have no cable for that.

Kids need attention and house does too so I’m off.

Jonathan is doing really well right now and his color is back.He was this awful greenish gray color and got a little skinny. We will be watching him close for a while.

  • The house is so quiet right now….

Laura got up this morning, did her schooling and had it completed by 12 noon, fed and watered the rabbits, and is now out side enjoying a walk out back. She took 4 huge carrots and is splitting them up between all the horses. She really has made me proud lately.

This morning Mark attended the orientation for Jonathan to attend his first year of school,I couldn’t quite get myself together fast enough,so he went. Then he had to take Jonathan to the Doc for a follow up as soon as he got back from the school. I have to tell you this kid worries me. I have never known someone to be so sick so often. I can’t help but get angry sometimes at everything.(why can’t they find it?Is it just in my head? I must be going crazy!) Still no definitive results, just he has an infection somewhere,it’s not meningitis,it’s not mono, they have no idea, elevated WBC show he is fighting something…if one more person tells me it could be a virus I’ll lose it. So we are now giving him Florajen3 to help boost his immune system (it contains Acidophilus,Bifidum, and Logum 15 billion live cultures per capsule). If you have no idea what it is it’s probiotics, that is one thing we know for sure has helped him in the past. AND we are waiting the full 5 days for his blood culture…which was taken last night.WHEW now that I got that off my chest.

Back to how QUIET it is right now? Eh em….tis the reason WHY I am typing this, can you believe I actually have a moment?

    IMG_0198

Look who fell asleep right in front of me….

AND in the swing….yes she still loves it,and now when she is tired she will actually climb up in it with a blanket!(I am always buckling her in when she falls asleep because if i try and do it when she climbs in it,she protests.)

    IMG_0202

I love seeing a sleeping baby in the window with sunshine.

and then there is Jonathan…after telling me for about an hour how much he was having NO FUN,I finally turned the Wii on for him…he is playing his favorite here, animal crossing. (his skin still looks gray but his eyes aren’t as puffy and red as they were yesterday..his eyes are still sunken in though, and he is drinking PLENTY)

    IMG_0199

When he spikes his fever it reaches over 105…hmmm and it’s EVERY time he has a fever. So you can guess thats why he doesn’t look so happy.(his fever had actually just broke when i was taking the pics for this post.)

    IMG_0207

OK well this mop was sleeping until this crazy lady with a camera came along and disturbed her late afternoon nap..

She is now confined to the kitchen all tied up for committing all sorts of crimes that….well I guess puppies just do. “Precious” has chewed and ruined many things around here,so on the way home from the Lab with Jonathan last night we stopped and bought her some chew things of her own that the kids enjoy throwing at….umm…to her. She is really a smart dog, and I do like her.(really I do) I got over the 3 times she peed on my BED, really I did.

Well Laura just came inside, Jonathan just ran off with my camera, and Carter just walked in from the bus…so Thats it for now…I’ll find some more me time later. (maybe)

  •  Baby is still sleeping and it is Saturday…..9:46am to be exact.( I think she is getting her molars, because she is having a hard time sleeping through the night again.)

What will I be able to get done today?

I really don’t want to push myself, I do have a sore throat…I do NOT want it to get worse…So I think I will go cozy up on the sofa with the rest of the kids, sip my coffee and tell them how I am going to make the yummiest Blueberry pancakes for Lunch.Maybe I can convince them to do all the house work for me?? (It would have to be a REALLY great Lunch!)
