Jonathan went back to school today. He had his tonsils out on the 13th. We had a doctors note excusing him from school until the 21st. I decided last night after he was doing THIS
That it was time to go back to the books!
What next?
Feel so bad for all who have been flooded out of their homes. I can't wait for this year to be over! We live on a hill, so we are ok. But just a little bit down the road from us is a different story. Just can't believe it. So sad. It is very painful to see. One thing after another.
Next week is going to be busy. Lauras Therapy had to be rescheduled because of the flooding this week to Monday, Tuesday is Jonathans surgery, he has to stay overnight until Wednesday. Thursday, Lauras therapy, then I have to drive all the way to Albany NY on Friday for Lauras follow up. (thinking I will reschedule that.)
Not to mention the other kids getting to school and making sure someone is here to get them off the bus. (If they even have school by then because of the flooding) I don't know how long it will take to fix the roads.
This picture was taken by the little kids school principle it is of the only road that leads to the little school behind our house. (the other way to get to the school is through the field,in the mud)
This is about 5 houses down the road from us on the corner.
I have to tell you this was VERY tempting! I have a thing for ducks but I also have a thing for kids too. My kids come first, so until we have a proper place to put the duck..(ONE) I will have to wait. I had one years ago before I had Laura. I called her Elvis because her beak curled up on one side. She would lay eggs over and over again and sit on them, but they would never hatch. (of course they weren't fertilized)
Well I had this bright idea..I found peasant eggs in the local paper 12 for 3 bucks already fertilized. I bought them, switched her eggs out with the fertilized ones, she took care of them until they hatched. I am saying UNTIL THEY HATCHED...because when they hatched they all ran away! I felt so bad for her.
We ended up finding a home for her on a local farm because we had to move and couldn't take her across the country. She would follow me everywhere, even into the house if I let her, and when I would stop, she would stop and put one of her feet on my foot. I miss her.![]()
Tuesday we went to a meet and greet at a park for Siennas Pre-K class. I didn't want to miss it because it would give her a chance to get use to her classmates and teacher. ( My camera died before I could get a picture of her with her teacher I will have to try on Tuesday when we get to see her classroom.)
She had allot of fun playing with her classmates. She talks about how she wants to go to school and was so excited to get a new backpack so I hoping it will be an easy transition for her. (probably be easier for her then her mommy.)
The second to last picture just before my camera died. This girl can be pretty stubborn. The green slide you see in the background, she RAN up when we first arrived. I just about peed my pants. Doctors instructions when we left were NO LIFTING more then 5 pounds. Well I MADE her sit next to me for a reason. She was running under the monkey bars, lifting up all the other kids and holding the legs while they went across the monkey bars! Mark wasn't too upset because he said it was human nature for her to be so active because she is still only 13, "just being a kid" he said. Also he was happy to see her enjoying herself (me too, but scared for her) .
We did have a nice time and it couldn't have been a more beautiful day to be at the park!
I couldn't end this post without a picture of Mr. Smiley
For all the apples that fell...
For the neighbor who brought some MORE zucchini ( It's coming out our ears! We don't even have to pick it!)
For a beautiful day with the smell of April Fresh Downy ![]()
For a (almost) 1 year old to scare me half to death around water.
For some apples still left on our tree!
For a little bit of concrete to ride trikes on bumping each other till someone falls over...
For an audience (who is learning how to become a monster like his big sister)
need I say anything more?
For sisters to play together...
or.....
give mom a heart attack....( REALLY didn't think she would do it!)
for BIG brothers...

Thankyou that she did not go any higher...

For little boys..
And big boys too...
(ignore the HUGE daddy long leg spider in the upper corner...he didn't see it.
)
Thankyou for a pool full of water to flush toilets with! (or to throw everything you find in it, including worms, shoes, sticks, and grass and call it "soup")
These guys had nothing to do with that...(HA!)

OK...Thank you for the 2 days we had with NO ELECTRICITY or running water!.... Who knew?
Really did you think I was joking or pretending to have fun?
I was laying in the SUN! ![]()
So we have been home for a few days now...4 days to be exact, and things are just now starting to run smoothly. I am starting to gear up for next week and all the appointments that go with it. I took this past week off, ok well not EXACTLY off. You know there is still dishes, laundry, baths, diapers, feeding cleaning,diapers,dishes,cleaning.......you got that? But STILL I wouldn't trade it for nothin
seriously.
Linn smooching on the baby just before we left.
Lauras last meal before we walked outta there!
This was the seating arrangement for the way home..Anthony thought he needed to keep kicking Laura...in the HEAD. So I rode the entire way home with my arm blocking his leg.
Of course Laura had to have someone over to visit they played games all night (the next night)
On another note... The first clouds from Hurricane Irene are moving in! The sky looks amazing right now.
UPDATED pics...I thought it looked neat BEFORE! check these pictures out that I took in a matter of 2 minutes, it changed! It turned a beautiful bright pink color! Everything was glowing!
I have but one word...Stunning.
So yesterday she was supposed to be moved to inpatient therapy. Turns out they didn't have a bed for her yet, and one wouldn't be ready until Wed or Thurs. I made a suggestion to just let me take her home and get her back into her therapy she was in. They really didn't think about it long, and they said SURE! (I was pretty shocked actually) I wasn't shocked because I didn't think she was ready, (because she definitely is!)I was shocked because one nurse had said they wanted to transport her to a different rehab, I just was not expecting they would let her go home!
So it's a big day...We should be home between 4 and 5.
I can't wait to put this all behind us. Laura has been through so much..you don't even know the half of it, because I don't chose to blog about everything of course. Maybe bits and pieces will come out over time.
Well, I am getting ready now, and we are off to pick her up!
~of course after I feed the baby AGAIN!
I really REALLY need to get some sleep, so I don't have time, or even feel like writing right now, but I wanted to share some pictures.
We came back to the Ronald House to find this for our dinner...
Dinner tonight was Luau themed, such nice people who do this for the families here.
mmmmm VERY delicious... but the decorations I think made it even better!
this was yesterday, Mark brought the girls to visit and they stayed the night with us
Also Adrian and his family came and brought us dinner. They BBQ'd and Grilled vegetables with chipolte sauce, sweet but HOT and very yummy! (have no idea why this is blurry, other then I am a bad photographer!)
they played connect four and Sorry sliders for about an hour, we all sat around and chatted for a while. We planned for them to come visit us at our house sometime soon.
They already had a follow up Appointment with The doctor so they decided to hang out for the rest of the day and bring food.
You know what he thinks about the bottle??? ( I keep trying!!)
On the floor...he's got quite the arm too!
Goodnight!
She is up finally in a chair! I can't even express what it felt like to walk in the room this morning and see her sitting up! I was so happy. Just a matter of time and we will be back home. We can't wait.
I know she does not look happy in the first picture, so here is a second one
Thats better!!
She is actually taking a shower right now, with the help of some nurses. I decided to let them help. I had no idea how I would help with a baby on my hip anyhow.
Some pictures of the little guy a few days before Lauras surgery
I had uploaded them but forgot, I think, to post them...
And this was 2 nights ago at the Ronald house..
thought we would dress him up..pretty cute as a bee if ya ask me !
He was eating a peice of chocolate cereal and playing on the couch.
